Every major industry has its trade shows and events, with the iGaming industry being no different. On the 20th of September 2022, developers, players, affiliate marketers and CEOs will descend on Barcelona for the Annual SBC Summit. A celebration of global betting and iGaming, it is a place where the sector’s past, present, and future are mapped out.
Conference Zones
The conference is so vast that it must be split into zones. Each of these houses’ discussions and events regarding the future of its representative sector. The zones this year are as follows:

It is expected that 6000 + delegates will attend the conference, spending their time going between these areas. There are two hundred companies on the floor, with 360 speakers on six stages.
The most anticipated aspects of the show are the conferences. Here, people can give their views on the industry, discuss its strengths and challenges, and speak about where it is going in the future. You can also get advice from the many exhibition stands, showcasing the innovation and idea that is pushing the industry forward.
Of course, all this is a great way to network. If you are in the industry itself you can meet competitors, speak with possible future colleagues and meet up with old friends.
It is not all work and little play either. Several special features are in play, from the SBC Football Championships to a Women in Gaming Breakfast Gathering and award ceremonies. There is also an invite-only, exclusive poker tournament held for those who want to raise the stakes.
Speakers at the Conference
This year’s conference is packed with top-class speakers. If you want to see the whole list, then you will have to visit their website as it is extensive. It is not only the CEOs of the major gambling companies that are there to give advice.
One interesting celebrity speaker who will attend the event is Molly Bloom. An author and entrepreneur, she was the founder of an underground poker network that attracted stars such as Tobey Maguire, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Ben Affleck. Subsequently arrested, she faced 10 years in prison. In the talk, she will discuss her experiences and how they were turned into the bestselling book Molly’s Game.
As well as iGaming, speakers from related industries will also be there. Johan Tjarnberg, founder of the Swedish Fintech company Trustly will attend and give a speech. He will be discussing the future of online payments and where he sees them going. This is an essential component of how the iGaming industry operates.
Attending The Conference
Over ninety-five different countries are represented at SBC, including delegates from the UK, Europe, and the US. Around 31% of these are C-Suite Execs and founders, and around 22% are other decision makers such as directors and heads. Thus, if you want to get the know the heavy hitters in iGaming, it is the best place to go.
