Casino Hold’em is an easy game to learn and by the end of this section, you’ll be ready to take on the house with the best chance of beating the dealer.
Your goal is to create the strongest 5 card poker hand by combining your 2 cards and the 5 community cards in the middle. This version of Hold’em works slightly different than the regular version because it’s only you and the dealer plays. Plus the stronger your poker hand, the higher your payout.
This variety of the game uses one 52 card deck, and the dealer has an automatic shuffle machine which they’ll use between rounds. You’ll notice that the dealer will shuffle one deck while playing the round with another to keep the game flowing.
How to Play Live Casino Hold’em?
To start, you’ll have to place an Ante bet during the betting round. This will ensure you’re eligible for the game. If you don’t place an Ante bet, you can still watch the game as a spectator.
You’ll then receive 2 cards face up, and the dealer will receive 2 cards face down. Don’t worry! The dealer can’t cheat by looking at your cards.
Next, the 3 card flop is dealt face-up on the table, and another betting round will begin. You can either:
- Fold and lose your bet.
- Call at 2x your Ante bet.
If you decide to Call, the dealer will place another 2 community cards face-up on the table, and now your hand and the dealer’s hand will be compared. Whoever has the strongest poker hand will win the round.
If the dealer wins then you lose your Ante and Call bets. And there are two different outcomes if you win depending on if the dealer’s hand ‘qualifies’. The dealer's hand qualifies if they have a minimum of a pair of 4s.
- If you win and the dealer’s hand qualifies you win even money on your Call bet and a payout on your Ante bet according to the table below.
- If you win and the dealer did not qualify - your Call bet is returned, and a payout on the Ante bet according to the table.
