Casino Stud Poker Hands
You probably know that four of a kind is stronger than a pair, two pairs, and three of a kind. However, what’s the stronger hand between a flush and a straight, what does a full house beat, and how is your hand judged when you don’t have a pair or anything stronger?
You need to know all of these things before you play Live Poker. It’s basic Poker knowledge that will prepare you for most variants of the game, as Poker hand values remain the same whether you’re playing Texas Hold’em, Caribbean Stud, Five Card Draw, or other popular variants.
- High Card: When there is nothing of value in the hand and so its value is determined by its highest card.
- Pair (eg. 4h, 4s): Two cards that have the same value.
- Two Pairs (eg. 4h, 4s, 5d, 5c): Two different pairs.
- Three of a Kind (eg. 4h, 4s, 4d): Three cards of the same value.
- Straight (eg. 4h, 5c, 6d, 7h, 8s): Consecutive cards that are not in the same suit.
- Flush (eg. 4h, 6h, 10h, Qh, Ah): Cards of the same suit that do not need to be in any particular order.

Casino Stud Poker Rules
You will be faced with four options throughout a game of Casino Stud Poker:
- Ante: Begin the game by wagering your ante. Simply select your preferred chip denominations and place those chips on the ante square. Once you have made your wager, the player and dealer will each be dealt 5 cards. All of the player’s cards and one of the dealer’s cards will be face-up.
- Call/Fold: After the cards have been dealt, you can choose to either call or fold. The former will wager 2x the ante bet and continue the hand. The latter will end the hand and lose the Ante.
- 5+1: The 5+1 side bet makes an additional hand from 1 dealer card and all 5 player cards. It will payout according to the table shown on this page and this is true even if you Fold.
- Jackpot: The progressive jackpot triggers when this bet is active, and a royal flush is revealed. Other big prize payouts are available.
When the hands are revealed, the dealer checks to see if they qualify with at least a king high. If not, the ante pays even money, and the call wager is returned. If a king high or better is revealed, the dealer’s hand will be matched against the player’s hand.
A dealer win settles the ante and call as a loss. A dealer loss triggers a payout ranging from 1:1 to 100:1, as per the payout table.
