Recapping Apex Legends in 2024

So far, 10 games have been announced for the Esports World Cup. In addition to Apex Legends, we’ve seen Honor of Kings, Free Fire, Street Fighter 6, Dota 2, Counter-Strike 2, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Call of Duty: Warzone, and more get announced.

Esport World Cup Speaks Out

The tournament features massive prize pools and the EWC Club Programme which generates more revenue. However, with this event being in Saudi Arabia, there’s controversy due to their human rights issues.

Esports World Cup Chief Games Officer Fabian Scheuermann spoke out, saying, “Last year’s competition featured 40 elite teams vying for a share of the $2 million prize pool, culminating in a historic victory for Alliance Esports in the longest Grand Finals match to date. It’s a match no one will forget so easily. I can’t wait to see the teams battling it out again this year again. Thank you Electronic Arts (EA) and Respawn Entertainment for your continued support and trust in this joint journey.”
