French football club Paris Saint-Germain and TALON, an Asian esports organization, have announced that their League of Legends partnership has ended.

With this, PSG Talon will be renamed TALON. It will still participate in League of Legends competitions, but now it will be in the new Pacific League, the LCP.

Reflecting on the Partnership

This partnership dates back to PSG Talon’s debut in June 2020.

PSG and TALON qualified for four world championships and seven PCS trophies during this pact.

Reasoning for the Split

According to TALON's announcement, the decision is due to the "evolving priorities and strategies of both organizations.”

TALON mentioned it's open to future collaborations.

Despite the end of this partnership, the Rainbow Six team remains intact.

With the announcement, TALON added, “We take immense pride in the successes we’ve achieved together, and this partnership will be remembered as one of the most iconic collaborations in esports history. The bond forged between TALON and PSG over the years is deeply valued.”

PSG and TALON Esports Retrospective

In addition to Rainbow Six, PSG is active in the EA FC and Arena of Valor scenes. In 2023, it launched a Dota 2 team with Quest Esports, but that venture has since been put on hold.

As for TALON, they were busy in 2024. It expanded into Europe with a base in Malta and secured a partnership with Visa. In addition to League of Legends, TALON competes in PUBG Mobile, Dota 2, VALORANT, and more.
