More Information About the Partnership
Included in the announcement was information regarding Team Heretics having a path to enter the DACH region where CGN is located. As for CGN, they can use the popularity of Team Heretics, the runner-up in VALORANT Champions 2024, to expand their presence in Spain.
In addition to training together, they’ll launch other events together, such as community tournaments, content with members of both teams and watch parties.
Additionally, there will be co-branded merch, such as jerseys.
The announcement also included information about offline events featuring the teams in Spain and Germany, and more details will be provided this year.
The Organization’s Speak About Deal
“Entering the DACH region with a strong partner like CGN is an honor for us,” commented Niklas Geiß, Team Heretics’ VCT and LEC Team Director.
“Heretics and CGN are united by a vision to inspire the next generation of esports fans through performance, creativity, and authentic community engagement.”
The COO of CGN Esports, David Dick, also commented on the partnership, calling it a “dream come true.”
“Partnering with Team Heretics, the VALORANT vice world champions, is a dream come true. This collaboration extends beyond esports; it’s about engaging with our fans and creating inspiring experiences, both in and out of the game.”
Background on The Organizations and Affiliate Partnerships
CGN Esports is a German esports organization that was founded in 2020. The organization competes in the VALORANT Challengers DACH league. In 2024, the roster missed out on being promoted to VCT EMEA. They finished third in VCT Ascension EMEA 2024.
VALORANT is a game developed by Riot Game, and last year, the developer added Affiliate Partnership programs. This allows VCT International League teams to create partnerships with Challenger or Game changers squads.
Since this announcement, VCT EMEA teams like Fnatic, FUT Esports, and GIANTX have locked down pacts.
