The Group Stage of the 1win Series Dota 2 has come to a close. This tournament, organized by 1win Esports, will have Team Liquid and Team Spirit progress into the playoffs.

In all, four teams have left the Group Stage and didn’t receive a share of the $100,000 prize pool. There were a few matchups that came down to the wire.

What the Group Stage Looked Like

The Group Stage of the 1win Series Dota 2 tournament had a modified rule set where eight teams were split into two groups of four. These groups were referred to as Group A and Group B. The matches started as a best-of-one, but were then moved to best-of-three for the Losers and Decider games.

In Group A, there was Team Liquid, Team Secret, Nigma Galaxy, and Gaimin Gladiators. In Group B, there was PARIVISION, 1win Team, OG ESports, and Team Spirit.

Recapping Group A

Group A, Team Liquid, Team Secret, Nigma Galaxy, and Gaimin Gladiators played on Nov. 19. Team Liquid beat Nigma Galaxy, and Gaimin Gladiators beat Team Secret.

This meant that Team Liquid and Gaimin Gladiators went at it in a rematch of The International 2024 final.

Like The international, Team Liquid was the winner. While Gaimin Gladiators lost, they still qualified for the playoffs after beating Nigma Galaxy in the Group A Decider match.

Recapping Group B

For Group B, 1win Team and Team Spirit won their matches. From there, PARIVISION beat OG Esports 2-0 in the Loser’s match.

It took another turn as Team Spirit narrowly beat 1win Team in the Winner’s match, but then 1win was shut out 2-0 by PARIVISION in the Decier match for th final playoff spot.

So, Nigma Galaxy, Team Secret, 1win Team, and OG Esports are headed home and won’t receive a share of the prize pool.

Team Liquid, Gaimin Gladiators, Team Spirit, and PARIVISION will move on.

Playoff action continues on Thursday, Nov. 21 where it can be viewed on 1win’s Twitch or YouTube channel.
