Key Takeaways

  • The Tavern Gaming establishments will be in multiple Las Vegas locations
  • Nevada gaming regulators have greenlit the company’s venture
  • The tavern business will be accomplished under Seventy Six by Station Casinos

Red Rocks Resorts is making new paradigm shifts in the Las Vegas gambling sector with plans to venture into tavern gaming. This marks a significant expansion for the company, which already enjoys beaming success in the cut-throat Sin City market.

The move comes after Red Rocks received approval from the Nevada Gaming Control Board. The company plans to implement the concept with Seventy Six, its newly unveiled brand. Station Casinos plans to open several of these barn casinos that will blend gaming and dining experiences.

An Expected Move

The president of Station Casinos, Scott Kreeger, expressed the brand’s excitement to dip its toes into tavern gambling, stating that the venture is a natural extension of what they already do. This comes shortly after Red Rock Resorts saw a surge in their Q1 2024 earnings with Durango Property Debut earlier this year.

Scott indicated the company’s intention to cast a wide operational net, from larger-than-life casinos to localized and intimate experiences like tavern barns.

The Brand New Seventy Six

Red Rocks plans to implement tavern gaming under Seventy Six, which Station Casinos, an American hotel and casino company, will open. The brand’s name reflects the company’s origins, paying homage to the year Station Casino was launched.

Station Casinos will open seven new tavern gaming locations for Red Rocks Resort. The first Seventy Six location is scheduled to open at North Lamb Boulevard and East Centennial Parkway, North Las Vegas, in September 2024. Two additional sites are expected to open in January near Kyle Canyon on US Route 95 and Aliante Parkway, near rival casino resort Boyd Gaming’s Aliante.

What to Expect

Station Casinos markets the Seventy Six taverns with the unique appeal of a gaming and dining blend. While one may argue grand hotel casinos in Las Vegas already do this, these venues offer a more localized and intimate experience.

Each tavern will house 15 IGT bar-top machines with over 55 games. These indulgences will include modern game variations like the online slots, poker, blackjack, and keno titles featured in online casinos to appeal to a younger demographic.

The Taverns will also offer dining options courtesy of Chef Danny Wilkins, ranging from cowboy burgers to ahi tuna nachos. The general ambiance of these establishments will be that of a toned-down neighborhood hangout spot with refined aspects of a traditional tavern experience.
