More About This Case
Initially, details were extremely sparse. All that was known was that someone was killed, and an eyewitness, someone who worked at the casino, said the shooting happened near the cash cage.
Following this, the killer carjacked several people before leading police on a chase throughout Las Vegas.
It’s been reported that Osborne was shot multiple times, leading to his death.
The suspect has been identified as Aerion Warmsley, 19. As mentioned, he carjacked multiple people (three in total), and his speed while driving reached as high as 105 mph.
During this chase, Warmsley crashed into a bus stop. One person, a mother of four, was critically injured.
It’s also been alleged he hit another person during the chase.
Warmsley was successfully apprehended. He was charged with felony murder with a deadly weapon and robbery.
He’s being held at North Las Vegas Community Correction Center.
Police have revealed no details concerning a motive.
Osborne’s Family Releases Statements
“It is with profound sadness that we share the news of the passing of Senator Spearman’s beloved son. This is an unimaginable loss for the Senator and their family, and they are heartbroken,” Spearman’s family said in a statement.
“During this difficult time, the Senator and their family ask for privacy as they grieve and support one another. They are deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and condolences from friends, colleagues, and the community.”
Spearman ran for mayor but was beaten by incumbent North Las Vegas mayor Pamela Goynes-Brown.
Spearman was endorsed by former presidential candidate and vice president Kamala Harris.
Spearman said she adopted Osborne to “show him a better life.”
“I knew raising him would be a challenge because he was a child who had witnessed violence early in his life, and he would need a strong, loving, and supportive home to grow up in,” Spearman said after Osborne shot her nephew in 2022.
Osborne was charged with attempted murder and battery. He pled guilty to battery with a deadly weapon and carrying a concealed weapon.

“Na’Onche made a very poor decision and he’ll have to face the consequences,” Spearman told reporters back then. “As a mother, I support the justice system and my son. It is with a heavy heart that my family is impacted by gun violence.”
Spearman was elected to the state senate in 2012 and won two reelections.
She reached her term limit in February.
Spearman also served 29 years in the Military Police Corps, retiring in 2007.
