- Pollard robbed a woman outside Hustler’s Casino and broke some of her teeth after putting his gun in her mouth
- Pollard allegedly committed other robberies, with one resulting in a man getting shot twice
A man has been arrested after allegedly threatening, assaulting, and robbing a woman outside of Hustler Casino in California. He’s been charged with several crimes.
The man arrested is Oshae Pollard, 21, of Los Angeles. The robbery happened in August.
Pollard allegedly saw the woman, rushed her, and pushed her to the pavement.
In other casino robbery news, there was one earlier this month in New Zealand.
Victim Threatened With Gun Which Broke Her Teeth
As the encounter began, the woman refused to give her purse up. However, the two struggled, and the Pollard allegedly drew his semi-automatic pistol, pushed it into her mouth, and broke several of her teeth.
If you yell again, I’ll kill you,” Pollard threatened the victim,” prosecutors revealed.
Pollard got away with the purse and got into a nearby car before taking off. The purse contained between $1,000 and $2,000 in cash.
This was the latest in a series of robberies performed by Pollard in the parking lot of casinos in Los Angeles and Orange County.
In all, Pollard is charged with interference with commerce by robbery and use of a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence.
He was in court in Santa Ana on Wednesday.
“The violence alleged in this complaint shocks the conscience,” Martin Estrada, US Attorney for the Central District of California, said in a statement. “It is essential that we hold perpetrators of violence accountable for victimizing our community. My office — through the Operation Safe Cities initiative — is collaborating with local law enforcement and using powerful federal tools to target the worst offenders of violent gun crime.”
Other Alleged Crimes
According to Estrada, Pollard committed at least three armed robberies from Aug. 25 to Sept. 22.
On Aug. 26, Pollard and an unnamed accomplice allegedly robbed a taxi driver who was in his car in a parking lot in Winchell’s Donut House in Carson. The cab driver was struck in the face and held at gunpoint.
In another case, Pollard and an accomplice robbed two others standing near their Rolls-Royce and Ferrari. This was also in a parking lot of Fashion Island near Newport Beach.
In that incident, Pollard allegedly pointed a semi-automatic pistol at the victim standing near the Rolls-Royce. The victim handed over his watch, wallet, and keys to the vehicle.
The other victim attempted to get in his Ferrari and drive away, but Pollard shot at the car. No one was injured.
The items stolen were valued at more than $40,000.
Pollard Allegedly Shot Another Victim
Finally, on Sept. 22, Pollard allegedly robbed a man entering a car in South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa.
“Give me the watch. Give me the ring. Give me the car,” Pollard reportedly shouted at the victim.
The man refused, and Pollard shot him in the hand. He then pointed the gun at the guy's chest.
He then told the victim, “You’re a dead man,” according to prosecutors.
Pollard then shot him in the left thigh and tried to take the watch.
The victim then kicked Pollard. Pollard fell to the ground, and the victim was able to get off a few kicks over about 15 seconds.
Pollard fled to a nearby Kia Forte.
The victim was treated for gunshot wounds and recovered.
