More on the Suspect
Darryl Anthony Saddler, 62, was arrested and charged. According to court documents, the man faces nine felony charges in connection with this crime.
According to a news release from the city, the report of a kidnapping outside Hollywood Casino in Maryland Heights came in at around 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Saddler allegedly forced the victim to drive to an ATM in St. Charles. From there, he allegedly demanded her to withdraw money. He then stole her vehicle and drove away.
After this, the victim contacted police and provided a description of Saddler and her vehicle. He was ultimately taken into custody.
These are the charges Saddler is facing in St. Louis County:
- One count of first-degree kidnapping
- One count of vehicle hijacking
- Two counts of armed criminal action
And these are the ones from St. Charles County:
- One count of first-degree kidnapping
- One count of first-degree robbery
- One count of unlawful possession of a firearm
- One count of stealing a motor vehicle
- One count of armed criminal action
He’s facing a $100,000 cash-only bond.
Saddler’s Criminal Past

He’s a registered sex offender with the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
According to his sex offender registry, there are two mentions of forcible rape. One was on Dec. 20, 1979, and the other on June 24, 1980.
The crimes occurred when he was 17, and the victim was a 61-year-old woman.
