Details regarding the situation are sparse as of Thursday afternoon. According to Vaquera, the investigation is in its early stages, but detectives and crime scene analysts are on the scene.
A section of the casino was taped off, and the shooting, according to eyewitnesses, happened near the cashier cage.
"As this is an active law enforcement investigation, we defer to North Las Vegas police for comment," David Strow, a spokesman for Boyd Gaming, said in a statement "We are cooperating fully with them in their investigation."

“We have breaking news that’s impacting one of our resorts,” one of the news hosts says.

A deadly shooting this morning is what we’re keeping track of, and we’re keeping watch the investigation from North Las Vegas Police; they’re looking into this,” another host says.
“We’ve got some footage from inside the casino. What we’re learning right now: Detectives and crime scene investigators processing the scene as we speak. They’re saying it’s pretty early on in this investigation. But we’re also getting word—our photographer—hearing from some people who were inside, a worker claiming that the shooting happened by the cashier cage in the casino that’s where you’re seeing some of that footage this morning. That’s what you’re seeing right now as detectives and crime scene investigators are processing this all. As we are going to continue to watch live out there at Aliante Casino and Hotel, Kim. A lot we are still working to find out here. We know one person was killed. We don’t know if a suspect is in custody right now, we don’t know what all led up to this, how this all started,” the host finished.
