A motor vehicle fell through the parking garage at Bally’s Evansville Casino & Hotel in Indiana, causing part of a building to collapse.

The vehicle fell through and landed on the second level of the conference center in the elevator lobby, fire officials said.

One person has been injured in the incident. The driver of the vehicle was able to leave the vehicle unattended but was rushed to a hospital.

This also resulted in a “huge leak/water flowing,” per local media. The water has since been shut off.

Earlier this year, a man was shot and killed by police following a shootout at Hollywood Casino in Indiana.

The Vehicle Went Through a Wall

The vehicle involved in the incident was driven through a wall on the top floor of the garage and fell into the conference center.

This ordeal is being described as a “partial structure collapse,” per EvansvilleWatch.

“Part of the roof has collapsed on the 2nd floor per callers,” EvansvilleWatch reported. “One caller said it’s the roof leading from the parking garage to the hotel near the escalator.”

The Vehicle Landed Upside Down

After falling, the vehicle landed upside down in the Executive Conference Center. It came to a halt on top of an escalator.

There was a conference happening during this.

The Evansville Fire Department responded, including those trained in structure collapses.

Firefighters on the scene checked for gas leaks and saw if anyone was trapped. Per EvansvilleWatch, no one was trapped, and everyone was accounted for.

According to initial reports, there was no structural damage, though a wall on the western side is missing.

Evansville police quickly evacuated the garage, and traffic in the area detoured.

Social Media Reacts

Following the incident, people have taken to social media to discuss it.

“They’ve been doing construction on the parking garage for a long time. The upper levels have been closed for ages. I don’t know when they reopened them for vehicles. It’s been years since I even tried to go higher than the second level,” said poster Gin Stanley.
