Key Takeaways

  • A 37-year-old unnamed man was shot in the Rivers Casino Philadelphia parking lot
  • There’s been no suspect named or apprehended in the shooting
  • Another incident occurred at Rivers Casino Pittsburgh involving a man being arrested for striking a security guard

On Thursday afternoon, a person was shot in the lower legs in the Rivers Casino Philadelphia parking lot. The person was shot several times and rushed to Jefferson Hospital for treatment.

This comes after a man pleaded guilty to multiple attempted murder charges stemming from an incident at Red Rock Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada.

What We Know About the Victim So Far

This is still a developing case, but what we know so far is that the victim is a 37-year-old male. The incident occurred in the 1000 block of N. Delaware Avenue. As of midafternoon on Thursday, he was in critical condition, and there was no update as of late Thursday evening.

Leads on Potential Suspects

As of Thursday night, police were still looking for the shooter. There have been no reports regarding whether or not the police know who it is yet or not.

What we do know is that police viewed surveillance footage at the casino to attempt to trace the suspect's car. The police have not discovered any firearms associated with the shooting.

According to 6ABC Action News, investigators “were focused” on a black Mercedes with paper tags near the scene, but no official news has been released to the public.

Casino goers like Mark Evans were shocked by the scene that unfolded.

"Shocking. Really shocked," Evans said to 6ABC Action News. "I see a lot of policemen out, so I didn't know what was going on."

A Separate Incident at Rivers Casino Pittsburgh

Another incident unfolded at another Rivers Casino but in Pittsburgh.

A man has been charged with striking a security guard in the face. He also made racial comments toward the guard.

The man charged was Frank Fine, a 39-year-old man, who was drunk and went after the guard following them, asking him to leave the property around 1:30 am ET.

He allegedly told Pennsylvania State Police, “I wanna go to jail today.”

He’ll appear in court on October 31.
