Travellers International Hotel Group confirmed Wednesday that it was set to embark on two expansion projects beyond Manila. Led by Chairman Kevin Tan, the company intends to establish two integrated resorts in Cebu and Boracay. This marks Travellers International's first endeavors beyond the capital, Manila, symbolizing remarkable growth since developing the first Philippine Integrated Resort – Newport World Resorts.

Kevin Tan, also the President and CEO of Alliance Global Group (AGI), laid out the project's details while speaking at the IAG Academy Summit at Newport. The company will invest in the eagerly awaited Mactan World Resorts in Cebu and Boracay World Resorts in Boracay. Both developments are predicted to bolster the Philippines' economy and tourism industry.

Mactan World Resorts

Travellers International reported its intentions to embark on a substantial venture in Cebu earlier this month. Initially, the company speculated it would spend around $300 million on the Mactan World Resorts. During his keynote speech at the IAG Academy Summit, Tan clarified that the IR would require a more significant investment of about $400 million.

Scheduled to open its doors by 2026, the Chair boasted that Mactan World Resorts would sit on a 30-hectare stretch on AGI's Mactan Newton township. A casino, hotel, and numerous other luxury amenities will be among the featured facilities.

"Once completed, this gaming and leisure hub is expected to supply more than 5,000 new jobs to the residents of Lapu Lapu City and nearby cities in Cebu," Tan explained in his speech.

Boracay World Resorts

Also within Travellers International's sights is Boracay World Resorts, which will be erected on AGI's 150-hectare Boracay township. The sprawling land already has facilities, including an 18-hole golf course, a private one-kilometer beach stretch, and almost 2,000 hotel rooms. Travellers intends to add to its appeal with luxurious amenities like standalone villas and hotel suites.

"We are elevating the tourism industry by seamlessly combining the natural beauty of Boracay with the excitement and sophistication of a modern integrated resort," Tan emphasized.

Tapping Into Opportunities Outside the Saturated Manila Market

Travellers International's expansion plans are reportedly inspired by increasing competition in Metro Manila. Tan pointed out that untapped regions in the country present new growth possibilities.

He further noted, "The Philippines has a lot of beautiful tourist destinations that can be developed, that have been waiting for developments or investments like this. I think an integrated resort that brings in hotel rooms, world-class amenities and can help develop local economies will be a very, very good thing to have."
