An Adept In-House Team
Wynn Design and Development (WDD) has over 90 experts to handle the resort’s architectural and design intricacies. The in-house team holds the project up to the luxury and innovation standards for which Wynn Resorts is renowned.
The site is a bevy of activities, with approximately 9,100 workers actively engaged and over 100 concrete trucks operating daily. Such a massive workforce ensures the brisk progress of the development in time for its Q1 2027 grand opening.
During the Q3 2024 earnings call, Wynn CEO Craig Billings expressed enthusiasm about the project, stating it is “certainly the most exciting new market for our industry in decades.” He further remarked, “I remain incredibly bullish about the future of our company. We have the best assets in the world’s premier gaming markets and our team is the most dedicated team in the business.”
A Blend of Luxury Hospitality and Gaming
Upon completion, Wynn expects the $5 billion project to set a new standard for luxury hospitality. The casino resort will boast 1,542 rooms and suites,1,121 of which are already structurally complete. Fit-out work is already happening in 820 rooms, installing walls, ceilings, floors, and mechanical systems.
Wynn Al Marjan Island will also feature 22 restaurants, a vibrant nightclub, a beach club on the Arabian Gulf, and a luxury shopping promenade stretching 15,000 sq m. In addition, it will also have a five-star spa, state-of-the-art theatre, and 7,500 sq ft of MICE (Meeting, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibition) space.
An Early Lock on the Opulent Market
Wynn Resorts recorded another massive win when the UAE’s gaming authority, the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA), announced this week it would not be awarding more licenses to casino operators anytime soon.
During the Skift Global Forum East 2024, Chairman of the GCGRA Jim Murren explained, “The government has been very clear they want to have a state of the art, highly compliant, very rigorous regulatory regime to make sure this is going to be world-class from a regulatory perspective. Nothing we are doing is going to rush that at all.”
