I’ve spent some time exploring Wheelz Casino, and I’m excited to share my experience in this Wheelz Casino Review.

Launched in 2021 and operated by Rootz Limited, this casino is licensed by the Malta Gaming Authority, so I immediately felt safe on the site.

Those of you who remember the Knight Rider and Baywatch TV series of the 80s will also remember David Hasselhoff aka The Hoff.

Well, he is also the main sponsor of Wheelz Casino so you will see his face plastered all over the site.

With over 1,000 games to choose from, a vibrant design, and plenty of promotions, I found Wheelz to be a great fit for New Zealand players.

Wheelz Casino Overview

From the moment I landed on the Wheelz Casino homepage, I was drawn in by the bright and modern theme.

The background is dark, but there are also splashes of rainbow colours, especially.

In the Wheelz logo. Admittedly I am not crazy over the purple text as it is difficult to read on the dark background, but if that is the only complaint I have, then I don’t think they are doing too bad.

The layout is easy to navigate, with clear games, promotions, and support categories.

It also lists games that are popular in New Zealand which was a great help as I never know which game to choose when testing out the pokies in demo play.

Added to this is that I could also see the payment options at a glance which was handy as many other casinos tend to bury their banking options deep in the site.

Casino Game Types

One of the things I look for in an online casino is a solid range of games, and Wheelz Casino doesn’t disappoint.

Here’s a breakdown of some of the casino game types I found while doing this review

Pokies: There’s an endless variety of online pokies, from simple classics to detailed video slots with tons of features.

Roulette: I could choose from European Roulette, American Roulette, and even French Roulette for a nice variety.

Blackjack: I enjoyed playing different versions of Blackjack, and particularly like Premium Blackjack, but I could not find it. However, I played American Blackjack Classic 8 which was loads of fun.

Live Casino: The live dealer section made me feel like I was at a real casino, playing Live Blackjack, Live Roulette and Live Baccarat with professional dealers. There is also a good selection of Live Game Shows such as Funky Time, Travel Fever and Mega Ball 100x.

Video Poker: I enjoy a good game of online video poker from time to time, so I was quite impressed with the selection at Wheelz Casino. They have games ranging from 1 hand traditional video poker to All Aces Power Poker which has multiple hands dealt at the same time.

Progressive Jackpots: Last but not least is the section with the big bucks. Namely the Progressive Jackpot section which has all the popular jackpot slots such as Mega Moolah, Joker Millions and Empire Fortune. A great selection if you are hoping for the chance of a big win.

Wheelz Casino Bonuses and Promotions

Who doesn’t love a good bonus? Wheelz Casino had plenty to offer:

Welcome Bonus: When I signed up, I was able to claim a total of $5000 plus 100 free spins which was spread over 5 deposits as follows:

  • First deposit: 100% up to $1,000 + 100 Free Spins
  • Second deposit: 50% up to $500
  • Third deposit: 25% up to $1,000
  • Fourth deposit: 50% up to $1,500
  • Fifth deposit: 25% up to $1,000

The wagering requirement is 35x which is pretty average at most online casinos.

Daily Promotions: I was quite surprised to see that Wheelz Casino has loads of daily and weekly promotions listed on the promotions page. As I was doing this review over Halloween, there were numerous Halloween promotions, but as these have expired I won’t go into detail, but suffice it to say that if they go overboard with Halloween promotions, then you can bet that you are in for a treat at Christmas time!

Tournaments: This is another area where Wheelz Casino excels. They have a huge selection of tournaments running all the time, and you can also find all these details on their promotions page.

Wheel of Spinz: I loved this feature. It gave me a chance to spin for extra bonuses and free spins.

Overall, I was very satisfied with the selection of bonuses and promotions and also felt that the terms and conditions were fair, and the wagering requirements were very reasonable at 35x.

Banking Options

Managing deposits and withdrawals was smooth at Wheelz Casino. Here are the options I took a closer look at:

Visa/MasterCard: Classic and easy for me to use. I know this is one of the preferred payment methods for us Kiwi players, and what I liked is that the minimum deposit is only $10

Skrill and Neteller: E-wallets that made transactions quick and secure. The minimum deposit is also only $10 and deposits are instant with withdrawals taking between 1 to 3 days for the casino to process them.

Paysafecard: Paysafecard is a handy prepaid option and I like the fact that there is more privacy as you don’t have to provide any banking details. However, I could not make a withdrawal with this method due to it being a Prepaid voucher.

Bank Transfers: Another great method but unfortunately you can only use it for withdrawals and not deposits. It is an ideal method for larger withdrawals.

I couldn’t find any Cryptocurrency options which is unusual as most casinos offer Crypto deposits nowadays but hopefully, this is something they will offer in the future.

The best part? I could deposit and withdraw in NZD, so I didn’t have to worry about any currency conversions.

Casino Software Providers

Software providers are the backbone of online casinos in my opinion.

While many online casinos often stick to just a few major providers, Wheelz Casino New Zealand stands out with its impressive selection of over 50 different software providers.

This extensive lineup ensures many of the latest and most exciting games as soon as they hit the market.

Additionally, I found many developers I had not heard of before, so it was fun trying out all these hidden gems.

Among the most notable providers at Wheelz Casino are industry giants like Microgaming, NetEnt, Pragmatic Play, and Evolution Gaming. Microgaming and NetEnt are renowned for their top-tier online slots, while Pragmatic Play and Evolution Gaming elevate the live casino experience with cutting-edge live dealer games.
Some of the providers I found are the following:

Games Global (Microgaming): These guys are the most well-known and biggest software suppliers with a huge selection of Progressive jackpot pokies.

NetEnt: I loved their high-quality slots with unique themes.

Evolution Gaming: The live dealer casino games from them were top-notch.

Play'n GO: One of my favourites as I find their games have some decent bonus features which trigger more frequently than one would expect.

Pragmatic Play: They offer a wide range of fun and interactive games with the bonus buy feature which I enjoy as I hate waiting for the bonuses to trigger and would rather buy a bonus.

Safety and Trust

One thing that’s non-negotiable for me is safety. Wheelz Casino gave me peace of mind by being licensed by the Malta Gaming Authority, a reputable regulator. The site uses SSL encryption, so I knew my personal and financial details were safe. Plus, as a player in New Zealand, I appreciated that the casino operates within local guidelines.

Responsible Gaming: This is another area that I feel is very important, as casinos must ensure there is help for players who may develop a gambling addiction.

Wheelz Casino has a whole page dedicated to Responsible Gaming which explains all the ways you can get help.

They also allow you to set loss limits under the Limits section of your account. Furthermore, you can also self-exclude yourself either permanently or temporarily.

Aside from the above, they also list outside organisations where you can get help. These are Gamblers Anonymous, Gamcare and Gambling Therapy.

Last but not least is links to sites such as Betblocker and Gamban which allow you to completely block access to online gambling sites.

Mobile site and App

Since I play on the go quite a bit, having a responsive mobile site is important. Wheelz Casino’s mobile version is just as sleek and easy to use as the desktop version.

While there isn’t a dedicated app to download, I found the browser experience on both Android and iOS to be very easy to use.

From my experience, the Wheelz Casino mobile site is almost indistinguishable from its desktop version. I could play nearly all of the same top-quality games, and I was impressed by how smoothly everything ran, with no lag. I could still try the games by using the demo play and could contact support via live chat too.

The user interface on mobile is slightly different due to the compact screen, but it’s designed in a way that still feels intuitive. It’s familiar enough to the desktop site and other mobile platforms that I barely noticed any change. Plus, the games are organized just like on the desktop version, so I found it easy to navigate without any confusion.

All in all, I’d say the Wheelz Casino mobile site is one of the best I’ve used, delivering a top-tier gaming experience on the go.

Everything loaded quickly, and I never felt like I was missing out on any features.

Casino Registration

I found signing up with Wheelz Casino New Zealand was very quick and straightforward, taking no more than five minutes.

Below I have listed the steps for you to follow if you want to sign too:

  • You can either click on the orange Sign Up Now button in the middle of the home page or the orange Register button on the left-hand side.
  • Enter your Email, password and phone number

  • Enter your first name, last name, address, date of birth and gender. Enter the verification code that the casino will email you. Tick to agree to the terms and conditions, and privacy policy and to agree to receive marketing promotions. You can decline the marketing promotions if you prefer not to get emails from the casino.
  • Click on the purple Register button and that’s it, your account will be signed up and you can make a deposit and start playing.

Customer Support

At Wheelz Casino in New Zealand, you can reach out to customer support using their 24/7 live chat or via email. These are pretty standard options that you’d find at most online casinos here.

From my experience, response times are also fairly typical. If you use the live chat, you can expect almost instant replies. For emails, it might take up to 48 hours to get a response from the Wheelz team.

Besides contacting support directly, there’s also a dedicated help centre packed with FAQs that you can go through to solve problems on your own. I found this FAQ section to be more thorough than those at many other online casinos.

Overall, if you’re playing at Wheelz Casino in New Zealand, you’ll find that the customer support options are pretty good:

To summarise, they offer the following support options:

  • Live Chat: Available 24/7 and super responsive.
  • Email Support: I reached them at support@wheelz.com when I needed more detailed assistance.
  • FAQ Section: Helpful for quick questions.

Conclusion

Overall, I had a great time while writing my Wheelz Casino review. The extensive game selection, Malta Gaming license, generous bonuses, and reliable support were the main aspects that made me like this casino. I also appreciated the fact that all of the games could be played in demo mode to test them out first.

I felt they went a bit overboard with all of the images of David Hasselhoff all over the site, but he sure is a happy-looking fellow so others may like seeing him everywhere.

I also wasn’t crazy about the fact that they don’t offer any Cryptocurrency deposit options, but luckily they have quite an extensive list of FIAT currencies so it's not that big a deal.
